What You’ll Do – Your Day-to-Day:
Setup Like a Champion
- Configure press brake machines for each job:
tools, gauges, angles
– you name it.
- Perform test bends and make micro-adjustments to ensure
first-piece perfection.
- Interpret blueprints
like a pro to bend metal to exact specs – no guesswork, just precision.
- Follow work orders and job travelers to the tee.
Quality is King
- Ensure every piece meets or exceeds
quality standards
before it moves forward.
- Use calipers, protractors, and sharp eyes to verify every angle, dimension, and tolerance.
- Catch and correct issues like overbends, under bends, or warping before they hit the line.
Keep Things Moving
- Load and position sheet metal onto the press brake
(by hand or hoist – whatever it takes).
- Work hand-in-hand with teammates to keep workflow smooth and production humming
- Keep your area
clean and dialed in
– because clutter slows you down
Maintain & Protect the Tools of the Trade
- Perform routine maintenance: lubricate, inspect tooling, and
keep machines in top shape.
- Follow all shop
safety protocols
– PPE, safe handling, machine safety.
- Report malfunctions immediately
– downtime is the enemy of progress.
What You Bring to the Table:
Experience
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Technical training in metal fabrication or machining is a plus.
- 1-3 years operating press brakes or working in metal fabrication.
- CNC brake experience
(AMADA, Trumpf, Bystronic, etc.)
is a
BIG plus.
Technical Skills
- Can read blueprints, shop drawings, and job travelers without breaking a sweat.
- Understand metal behavior and bend allowances – knows how to shape it, not break it.
- Comfortable using measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, and protractors.
Soft Skills
- Detail-driven with a sharp focus on quality and consistency.
- Self-motivated and team-minded – you can hustle solo or on the line.
- Problem solver who can think on their feet and adjust on the fly.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Comfortable with frequent bending, lifting, and working around loud equipment.
- Thrives in shop with dust, heat, and industrial noise.
