Shift: 1st Shift
Schedule: Monday–Friday 6 am to 2:45 pm!
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Brake Press Operator to join our manufacturing team on 1st shift. The ideal candidate will have experience reading blueprints, setting up and operating CNC brake press equipment, and producing quality metal components that meet customer specifications. This position requires a strong commitment to quality, safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Essential Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders.
- Set up, program, and operate CNC brake press machines to produce parts within customer specifications and required tolerances.
- Operate non-programmable roll-forming equipment to meet production requirements.
- Verify proper bend sequence and order of operations to ensure accurate part completion.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools to ensure quality standards are met.
- Confirm all required parts and quantities are properly kitted and accounted for before releasing jobs to the next production stage.
- Accurately clock in and out of production jobs and maintain production records.
- Collaborate with team members to identify production challenges and recommend process improvements.
- Communicate with supervisors and management regarding production concerns, quality issues, or process questions.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area following 5S and company safety standards.
- Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and quality requirements.
- Assist with additional production duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Previous brake press or metal fabrication experience preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.
- Experience programming CNC brake press machines is preferred.
- Knowledge of sheet metal forming processes and bend deductions.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, tape measures, angle gauges, and squares.
- Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining productivity and quality standards.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable attendance and positive work ethic.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, bend, twist, and reach throughout the shift.
- Safely handle sheet metal components and fabricated parts.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
