Basic Job Functions:

  • • Set up, operate, and adjust press brake machinery to bend, form, or straighten metal materials according to specifications.
  • • Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, work orders, and production instructions.
  • • Select proper tooling, dies, punches, and back gauges based on job requirements.
  • • Measure and inspect finished parts using calipers, tape measures, protractors, and other precision tools to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • • Perform machine adjustments to maintain correct part dimensions and ensure consistent production output.
  • • Monitor machine operation and identify issues related to material, tooling, or equipment performance.
  • • Safely load and unload materials, following proper handling procedures.
  • • Maintain equipment by performing routine cleaning, minor maintenance, and reporting needed repairs.
  • • Keep work area cleaned and organized, following Nucor safety and housekeeping standards.
  • • Support other fabrication or production departments as needed based on workflow.
  • • Adhere to all safety policies, ensuring safe operation of machinery and equipment at all times.
  • • Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and production drawings
  • • Advanced understanding of measurements, fractions, and basic math
  • • Experience using hand tools and power tools
  • • Ability to use precision measurement instruments such as calipers, tape measures, and protractors
  • • Ability to stand, bend, reach, and lift for extended periods

Preferred Qualifications:

  • • Previous experience working within a manufacturing or fabrication environment
  • • High school diploma or equivalent
  • • Knowledge of 5S, Lean Manufacturing, or continuous improvement practices
  • • Ability to read and use precise measurement tools to tight tolerances

Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
