About the Role
Join the Dion Label team for a high-priority, 2-week project assisting our printing press operators! We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Pressroom Assistant to support a specific label production run. Your core focus will be precision quality control-catching, counting, sorting, and packaging high volumes of custom labels to ensure exact order quantities and top-tier product quality.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Catching & Counting: Carefully inspect labels as they come off the line, ensuring accurate counts and defect-free output.
Sorting & Stacking: Sort finished label rolls/sheets according to job specifications and batch quantities.
Quantity Verification: Double-check label counts against production orders to guarantee correct delivery totals.
Pressroom Support: Assist press operators with material handling, clearing waste, and keeping the immediate workspace organized.
Staging & Prep: Help package, label, and stage finished orders for the finishing and shipping departments.
Safety & Standards: Maintain a clean workspace and follow all safety protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Qualifications & Physical Demands
Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Math & Detail Focus: Strong basic math skills for precise counting, measuring, and verification.
Reliability: Punctual, dependable, and capable of maintaining focus during fast-paced production runs.
Physical Requirements: * Ability to stand for the majority of the shift.
Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 25 lbs occasionally.
Good visual acuity (close vision, color perception) to spot label flaws.
Teamwork: Positive attitude with the ability to take direction well from lead press operators.
