Essential Functions:
- Demonstrate commitment to safety and performs job duties in accordance with company safety policies and procedures.
- Demonstrates commitment to quality and performs job duties in adherence to GMP guidelines.
- Should be aware of their responsibilities and their accountability is clearly defined for key staff involved with product safety, legality, and quality systems.
- Understand job ticket information to determine quantity, stock specifications, special work instructions, and any other special customer requirements.
- Perform or assist with the make-ready and operation of the offset printing press.
- Set up the press feeder and keep it running properly.
- Install the proper inks in the correct press units and maintains their levels during the press run.
- Maintain the fountain solution levels.
- Stage stock in preparation to run jobs.
- Must be qualified to operate Toppy skid turner.
- Set up the coating unit with the proper coating.
- Adjust press throughout the run to maintain position and registration.
- Clean and gum the plates after the press run.
- Assist with the removal, replacement, and maintenance of rollers.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the pressman.
- Ability to act as a backup Press Operator in all functions of the Press Operator position.
- Assist with decisions regarding the quality of finished product.
- Complete required quality inspections and paperwork.
- Work with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance.
- Play an active role in the maintenance and cleanliness of the assigned press and surrounding work area.
- Contribute to overtime needs to meet customer demands.
- Understand department communication systems, schedules, time/attendance system and job reporting requirements.
- Actively participate in Lean manufacturing initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
