Job Description
Marathon staffing is looking for a Press Machine Operator to join our metal fabrication team. No extensive experience required — we're happy to train the right person. What matters most is a great attitude: someone reliable, eager to learn, safety-conscious, and ready to be part of a hardworking team. Any exposure to hydraulic presses or manufacturing equipment is a plus but not required.
Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate hydraulic press machines to form, stamp, or shape metal parts under supervision/training
Load and unload metal materials/parts into the press safely and accurately
Follow work instructions, blueprints, or visual guides to produce parts to spec
Perform basic quality checks on finished parts (visual inspection, simple measuring tools)
Learn to recognize and report equipment issues, unusual sounds, or hydraulic leaks
Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe (5S principles)
Follow all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO) and proper PPE use
Maintain basic production records (piece counts, downtime)
Work well with teammates and supervisors, and communicate proactively
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (or willingness to obtain)
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and reliability
Willingness to learn hydraulic press operation and metal fabrication processes
Ability to follow instructions and work safely around machinery
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Good attendance record and punctuality
Team player who takes pride in their work
Preferred (Not Required)
Prior experience with hydraulic presses or manufacturing equipment
Basic mechanical aptitude
Experience reading blueprints or measuring tools (calipers, micrometers)
Forklift experience
