Press Operator – 3rd Shift

Location: Ansonia, CT
Pay: $20.00–$25.00 per hour based on experience
3rd Shift Differential: Additional $2.00 per hour
Anticipated 3rd Shift: 10:30 PM–7:00 AM
Training: 1st Shift for at least 1 month
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday

Position Overview

We are looking for 3 Press Operators to join a growing manufacturing team as they prepare to launch a new 3rd shift.

This is a hands-on manufacturing position within a Short Run production department. The Press Operator will operate and monitor press equipment, make adjustments as needed, inspect finished parts for quality, and help keep production running efficiently and safely.

Candidates selected for the 3rd shift will train on 1st shift for at least one month to learn the equipment, processes, quality standards, and safety requirements before moving to 3rd shift.

Responsibilities

• Operate press machines according to production specifications and work instructions.

• Monitor machine performance throughout the production process.

• Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards.

• Perform routine machine cleaning, maintenance, and adjustments.

• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and report larger mechanical concerns to Maintenance.

• Read and follow work instructions, blueprints, and schematics.

• Maintain accurate production records, including machine settings, production output, and defects.

• Perform quality checks and maintain a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.

• Follow all safety procedures and properly use required PPE.

• Work closely with supervisors, coworkers, and Quality Control to meet production goals.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area.

• Support continuous improvement efforts to improve productivity and efficiency.

• Work overtime or extended hours when needed.

Qualifications

• Previous press operation or machine operation experience preferred.

• Manufacturing experience is strongly preferred.

• Ability to read and understand work instructions, blueprints, and schematics.

• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Ability to make basic machine adjustments.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Reliable attendance and punctuality.

• Comfortable standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Willingness to complete 1st-shift training before transitioning to 3rd shift.

• Ability to work overtime as needed.

Pay & Schedule

$20.00–$25.00 per hour based on experience
+$2.00 per hour 3rd Shift Differential

The new 3rd shift is anticipated to run approximately 10:30 PM–7:00 AM. Final 3rd-shift hours will be confirmed as the shift launch approaches.

Important: Candidates hired for 3rd shift will be required to train on 1st shift for at least one month before transitioning to the overnight schedule.
