Press Operator Assistant

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Press Operator Assistant to support our Lead Press Operators in running and maintaining our Heidelberg printing presses. In this role, you will help prepare the press for print runs, load raw materials, manage paper and ink supplies, and perform routine cleanup to ensure smooth and efficient production.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist the Lead Press Operator with make-readies, hanging plates, packing blankets, and setting up the feeder and delivery systems.
• Load and continuously monitor paper stock in the feeder, ensuring proper alignment, correct sheet sizes, and smooth running speeds.
• Prepare, mix, and supply required inks, coatings, and fountain solutions press-side.
• Participate in routine preventative maintenance, wash up units, clear jams, and keep the press and surrounding work area clean and safe.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

• 1+ years working in a fast-paced print, manufacturing, or production environment. Experience working around Heidelberg or offset sheetfed presses is a strong plus.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for up to 8-12 hours a shift.
• Ability to routinely lift and move up to 50 lbs (paper stock, ink buckets, etc.).
• Basic math and reading skills with strong attention to detail.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
