Our client is a well-established, high-end commercial printer for the direct mail industry, with a client base that includes multiple Fortune 500 companies. With decades of operation and sustained growth, this is a stable, team-oriented environment where skilled press professionals can thrive. In this role, you' ll support the lead Operator in producing envelopes that meet rigorous quality standards while maintaining optimum press speeds and minimal downtime.
What You' ll Do
You' ll work alongside a lead Operator to keep production running smoothly and on spec. Day-to-day, that looks like:
Setting up and operating sheet-fed offset printing presses, including installing and securing press components by hand
Making adjustments to press parts and mechanisms to keep feeds clean and consistent
Performing routine cleaning and maintenance - ink rollers, blankets, fountains - using standard press solvents
Swapping out worn parts and making minor repairs with guidance from senior operators
Assisting with color and registration corrections before and during runs to make sure every job meets quality standards
You' re a Great Fit If Any of These Apply...
You' ve worked on a press crew before and know what it means to support a lead operator without needing to be hand-held or you come from a trades background (mechanical, industrial, manufacturing) and pick up equipment quickly
You' re the kind of person who fixes things at home, knows your way around hand tools, and instincts kick in when something doesn' t sound or feel right on a machine
You catch things: a color that' s slightly off, a feed that doesn' t feel right, a roller that needs attention
You show up consistently and take ownership of your part of the job, even when no one' s watching
