Press Production Supervisor - 1st Shift

Overview --------

We are seeking a results-driven Press Production Supervisor to lead a high-performing team in a fast-paced high-volume manufacturing environment. This leadership role promotes a safety-first culture, drives continuous improvement, and embraces a servant leadership approach to build an engaged and accountable workforce.

Key Responsibilities --------------------

### Safety Leadership

  • Champion and enforce all safety policies and procedures
  • Conduct safety audits and lead root-cause investigations
  • Identify and correct unsafe behaviors or conditions
  • Ensure proper safety training and PPE compliance

### Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead with a servant leadership mindset focused on coaching and team development
  • Train mentor and cross-train team members
  • Oversee attendance performance and policy enforcement
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations matters
  • Partner with Union Stewards on contract and disciplinary issues

### Production Oversight

  • Supervise daily operations within the stamping press department
  • Drive achievement of production goals, quality standards, and on-time delivery
  • Optimize Client and machine utilization
  • Troubleshoot issues quickly to minimize downtime and maintain workflow

### Continuous Improvement

  • Lead and support Lean initiatives including 5S and Kaizen
  • Analyze scrap downtime and bottlenecks to implement corrective actions
  • Collaborate with quality maintenance and engineering teams to improve throughput and efficiency

### Reporting & Communication

  • Maintain accurate production safety and quality records
  • Report KPIs to leadership
  • Communicate effectively across departments to resolve operational challenges

Qualifications -------------

  • 1-3 years of experience in a high-volume fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Previous manufacturing supervisory experience required; stamping press experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated servant leadership approach
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles
  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, or related field preferred
  • Internship or co-op experience will be considered

Physical Requirements --------------------

  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Frequent stooping and bending
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance
