Summary/Objective

 

Set up or set up and operate various manual, pneumatic, electric, or hydraulic presses to cut, shape, and form metal, plastic, or other materials used in manufacturing operations to specific dimensions as specified by blue prints, CAD drawings, or other documented specifications.

 

Essential Functions

  • Install die sets into various types of presses.
  • Adjust components and set stops on precision forming equipment.
  • Install, align, and secure holding fixtures and dies to press beds, using gauges, templates, shims, and hand tools.
  • Measureand inspect workpieces for quality and conformance to acceptable part geometry and customer specifications using various measuring equipment such as height gauges, calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, etc.
  • Document specific set-up notes and diagrams to ensure process repeatability.
  • Start press and observe operation to detect possible misalignment or malfunction and make any necessary changes/adjustments.
  • Perform general maintenance and lubrication of presses to keep equipment operating correctly.

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. 1st shift hours are Monday – Friday 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 2nd shift hours are Monday – Friday 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. Occasional overtime as deemed by management and production needs. Regular attendance is an essential function of the job.

 

Travel

No travel is required for this position.

 

Required Education and Experience

  1. High School diploma or GED.
  2. Knowledge of measuring equipment a plus.

Salary Range: $17.50-$25.00/hour 
This is the full salary range for the position. Most new hires can expect to start around $17.50/hour. 
Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, education, and internal equity.
