Press SupervisorFull-time | Night shift6pm-6:30am A local manufacturing facility in Crossville is seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented Press Supervisor to lead production and engineering-related activities within a fast-paced environment. This role is responsible for ensuring safety, quality, and productivity goals are met while driving continuous improvement and supporting overall manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, analytical thinking, and a commitment to operational excellence. Responsibilities
Supervise daily press operations to ensure production, quality, and safety standards are met or exceeded
Coordinate with manufacturing leadership to address operational priorities and production needs
Monitor press performance, setups, and output quality for mass production readiness
Track and report downtime, material usage, and inventory levels
Conduct quality checks on finished and semi-finished products
Troubleshoot production issues including defects, size variations, and equipment concerns
Support product changeovers and ensure process accuracy and efficiency
Develop and implement quality improvement and process optimization initiatives
Coordinate preventive maintenance plans for equipment, including die boxes
Assist in testing, prototyping, and validation of new and existing product lines
Research and implement cost reduction and waste minimization strategies
Maintain accurate records, reports, and traceability documentation
Promote and enforce safe work practices and a positive team environment
Communicate effectively across departments to support production goals
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the ceramic or manufacturing industry
Proven leadership experience in a high-volume production environment
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer applications
Ability to perform basic mathematical functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and interpret basic data such as bar graphs
Steel toe footwear required
Must be able to pass a drug test and background check
