    Description

    Position Summary:

    The Press Tender will operate powered industrial vehicles such as lift trucks for the staging of baskets at machines and moving of materials throughout the building to support press operations.

    Must be willing and able to work in an environment exposed to elements that can include but are not limited to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and uncontrolled temperatures.

    Accountabilities:

    • Maintain a clean and organized work area and equipment while following all established safety procedures.
    • Monitor workflow, make sound production decisions and support the operation of multiple machines simultaneously.
    • Participate in die setup procedures to support safe and efficient production.
    • Perform prescribed preventive maintenance on machines as required.
    • Safely operate an overhead crane to load heavy materials in accordance with established procedures.
    • Assist Machine Operators with production activities as needed to support efficient operations.
    • Clean up excess materials and dispose of or store them in designated locations.
    • Ensure all material tags are retained in the designated location for proper recording and traceability.
    • Identify and report defective materials, equipment issues or other questionable conditions to leadership.
    • Load shaker trays and scrap conveyors to support efficient production.

      Qualifications:

      • 1+ year of related experience required; experience in a press environment is a plus.
      • Ability to operate handheld scanners to record material movements and verify inventory and location information.
      • Ability to safely handle heavy materials.
      • Ability to use hand tools, power tools and precision measuring instruments, including tape measures, micrometers and calipers.
      • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
      • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
      • Must demonstrate basic computer skills.
      • Strong attention to detail.
      • Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
      • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
