    Description

    Position Summary:

    Under supervision, participates in all aspects of sheet feed Lithography.

    Pressman is an intermediate skill level in Printing & Coating. They perform a range of skilled duties in Lithography & coating in the Material center.

    Support plant production needs for daily operation, changeovers, and preparation for shipments. Primarily responsible for assisting in packaging of product of internal and external use.

    Responsibilities:

    Perform all press make-ready functions in accordance with safety and quality guidelines

    Hang plates, load ink, load stock.

    Bring and maintain ink settings to and at proper levels.

    Verify job ticket specifications and assure that all materials needed to produce jobs are available.

    Run print jobs upon obtaining quality check approval from group leader or manager.

    Maintain consistency of quality throughout press runs.

    Remove plates and inks and wash-up press upon completion of orders and otherwise maintain the press in good working order.

    Troubleshoot problems with jobs and/or press as necessary.

    Report any press malfunctions or problems with jobs which cannot be easily resolved to either group leader or manager.

    Report any shortage or low level of press room supplies to group leader or manager.

    Performs other production tasks associated with Offset Printing.

    Performs other general tasks as assigned

    Requirements:

    Previous Lithography experience required.

    Must be able to use scale and margin guides

    Previous experience operating manufacturing equipment efficiently required.

    Must be able to use scale and margin guides

    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

    Understand plant safety guidelines and pass all required safety training

    Must be available to work 2nd or 3rd shift, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

    Ability to be on feet up to 8-12 hours per shift

    Frequently lift 35 pounds or more, stand on feet long periods of time, and walk often.

    Use of hands and fingers to perform job function

    Ability to stoop, kneel, bend and climb

    Physical Demands

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand and talk or hear; and walk or sit. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; and smell.

    The employee must regularly lift and/or move tools, materials and equipment weighing up to 35 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

    The employee predominantly works inside with warm to hot conditions, near moving mechanical parts, and on slippery and uneven surfaces. The employee is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions, fumes or minor airborne particles and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is frequently loud.
