Penmac Staffing is hiring a Pressure Vessel Builder for a long-term opportunity with a well-established manufacturing company in the Washington, MO area. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, has strong mechanical aptitude, and takes pride in producing high-quality products in a safety-focused environment.Requirements for the Pressure Vessel Builder
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance available when needed
- Mechanical aptitude and experience using basic hand and machine tools
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety
- Basic computer data entry skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment
- Willingness to learn new processes and equipment
- Must be willing to submit to required screenings
Helpful skills that can be learned on the job:
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical or electrical drawings and schematics within 60 days of hire
- Forklift and overhead crane experience
Pressure Vessel Builder Responsibilities
- Use drawings, work instructions, and training materials to prepare industrial pressure vessels for customer use
- Rotate through multiple production areas including blasting, vessel preparation, hydro testing, and related departments
- Install valves and external components while maintaining required tolerances and proper orientation
- Apply labels, logos, and branding to finished products
- Operate hand tools, machine tools, multimeters, tow motors, overhead cranes, and occasionally forklifts
- Work in enclosed blasting areas while following all safety procedures and using required personal protective equipment
- Assist with equipment disassembly after testing to support shipping needs
- Work closely with team members to meet quality standards and production goals
- Learn additional departments and equipment with the support of experienced team members
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and LEAN manufacturing activities, including PDCA, A3, and root cause analysis
- Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to take on new responsibilities as needed
