Job Title: Preventative Maintenance / Machine Shop Helper (1st Shift)

Location: Hamilton, OH 45015

Pay Rate: $18.00 – $20.00/hour

Work Schedule: 1st Shift: Mon–Thurs, 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Overview

The Preventative Maintenance / Machine Shop Helper is responsible for keeping production machinery (including CNC, ACME, and Davenport screw machines) and surrounding work areas clean, organized, and production-ready. This role supports machine operators by performing routine cleaning, handling materials, removing chips/scrap, replenishing fluids and supplies, and helping maintain an efficient, safe work environment.

Job Specifications

• Clean machines (CNC, ACME, Davenport), workstations, and surrounding production areas.

• Remove chips, scrap, oil buildup, and debris from machines and work areas.

• Perform routine machine cleaning, cleanouts, and lubrication as directed.

• Move raw materials, finished goods, and work-in-process throughout departments using material-handling equipment like pallet jacks.

• Load and stage materials for machine operators as needed.

• Replenish tooling, fluids, and production supplies.

• Empty chip hoppers and scrap containers following safety guidelines.

• Assist operators with machine changeovers and general production support.

• Complete cleaning and maintenance/housekeeping checklists accurately.

• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

• Identify and report machine issues, safety hazards, or supply shortages to supervisors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.

• Manufacturing experience preferred but not required; experience around CNC or ACME/Davenport screw machines is a plus.

• Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment such as pallet jacks.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace cleanliness.

• Ability to work independently and support multiple operators.

• Reliable attendance and a team-oriented attitude.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs regularly.

• Ability to perform repetitive cleaning and material-handling tasks throughout the shift.

• Ability to work safely around manufacturing equipment and wear required PPE.
