Job DescriptionDavis Behavioral Health, Inc. is seeking part-time, temporary students to complete their Bachelors-level internship placement. The Communications Intern will support the Central 3 Communities That Care youth-focused substance use prevention coalition through strategic communications, social media, community engagement, events, and public outreach. This internship is designed for students interested in social media, strategic communication, public health, community events, nonprofit outreach, or related fields.The intern will help translate prevention research and coalition activities into accessible, engaging content for youth, families, community partners, and broader public audiences. Working closely with coalition staff and the internship supervisor, the Communications Intern will contribute to projects that increase awareness of prevention efforts, highlight community impact, and strengthen public engagement.Essential Job FunctionsSupport the development and implementation of communications and public engagement activitiesLearn and consistently apply coalition goals, branding standards, prevention messaging, and communication strategiesDevelop and maintain a social media content calendarCreate engaging social media content, including graphics, videos, written posts, photographs, and other digital materialsSchedule and publish approved content across appropriate social media platformsTranslate prevention research and evidence-based public health information into accessible and engaging messagesAttend coalition meetings, community events, and outreach activities as assigned.Capture photographs and video content at coalition and community events.Monitor social media performance and analyze engagement metrics.Prepare basic social media analytics reports and identify opportunities for improvement.Support youth engagement initiatives, including polls, contests, stories, and other interactive contentConduct interviews with coalition members, youth leaders, community partners, and other stakeholdersDevelop content that highlights local prevention successes, partnerships, and community impactMaintain professional communication with coalition staff, community partners, and stakeholders.Complete a special communications or outreach project determined in collaboration with the internship supervisorLocationDavis Behavioral health, Main Street Clinic 934 S. DBH will not hire individuals currently using illegal drugs or abusing alcohol; therefore, making employment at DBH conditional upon successfully passing pre-employment drug screening by providing a valid sample.
