Join the Southwest Council as a Prevention Specialist and help shape healthier, stronger communities across Cumberland, Gloucester, and Salem Counties.

In this dynamic role, you'll deliver evidence-based prevention programs, build community partnerships, coordinate impactful events, and work alongside dedicated professionals committed to reducing substance misuse and promoting wellness for people of all ages.

• Deliver engaging, evidence-based prevention education programs to youth, adults, families, and community members across all stages of life.
• Ensure grant objectives and performance outcomes are achieved while maintaining compliance with DMHAS and other contracted program requirements.
• Promote and market prevention services through community outreach, educational events, presentations, and awareness campaigns.
• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with schools, community organizations, healthcare providers, regional coalitions, and faith-based partners.
• Plan, coordinate, and facilitate community meetings, prevention initiatives, educational workshops, and Council-wide events.
• Present educational programs for parents, youth, professionals, and community groups.
• Participate in prevention team meetings, staff meetings, leadership meetings, and strategic planning efforts to support the Council's mission and goals.
• Maintain accurate documentation, program records, data collection, and timely grant reporting, including monthly narratives and required documentation.
• Collaborate with leadership and the Finance Office to ensure responsible stewardship and reporting of grant funds.
• Represent the Council at conferences, trainings, coalition meetings, and professional events throughout New Jersey and, when needed, out of state.
• Assist with newsletters, educational materials, videos, social media, and other communications that promote prevention initiatives.
• Safely transport program participants using a company-owned 15-passenger van when required.
• Maintain First Aid/CPR certification and pursue ongoing professional development through trainings and workshops.
