Position Summary:

Our Chicago, IL office has the opportunity for a Pricing & LPM Analyst to join the Firm’s expanding practice. The Pricing & LPM Analyst position will report to the Sr. Pricing & LPM Manager to support the deployment of various strategic pricing initiatives across the Firm. Ideal candidate should be highly motivated with prior experience in the legal/ professional services industry. Experience with business intelligence reporting applications and other financial analytic tools within a fast paced work environment is also desired.

Essential Functions:
  • Assist Client Services Team in reviewing client requests for proposals (RFPs) that require attention to client requirements and outside counsel guidelines (OCGs) and make appropriate pricing recommendations within deadlines.
  • Maintain a central repository of alternative fee arrangements (AFAs).
  • Analyze pricing proposals and monitor pricing arrangements against established goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) including utilization, leverage, realization, and profitability for internal review and approval.
  • Model the impact of pricing scenarios for specific engagements to help drive understanding of client/matter realization and profitability.
  • Execute monthly reports and provide analytic insights on pricing performance as compared to prior periods.
  • Develop expertise with data warehouse as it relates to inquiry and report writing capabilities.
  • Develop expertise with budgeting, software budgeting tools and Legal Project Management (LPM), including data analysis and research on historical matters to provide pricing recommendations to achieve profitability.
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis in response to internal requests for information including in support of RFPs, general attorney inquiries, and various management reporting initiatives.
  • Stay informed of current pricing trends within the legal market, and apply learned concepts to help improve the firm's pricing capabilities and mitigate risk.
Requirements:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance or Accounting.
    • 2+ years of experience within the legal/professional services industry.
    • Strong financial modeling skills, detail oriented, and demonstrated initiative to take on new challenges.
    • Capable of working on multiple projects within a fast paced environment with changing priorities and deadlines.
    • Ability to effectively communicate pricing results with analytic recommendations to attorneys and professional staff of all levels.
    • Advanced organizational skills, including the ability to maintain and track large volumes of data, prioritize workload, coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines and ability to be flexible and adapt to change.
    • Advanced knowledge of mathematical and basic statistical concepts, including fractions, percentages, and ratios and apply this knowledge to large volumes of data to reach meaningful conclusions.
    • Willingness to learn and innovate new solutions to improve organizational performance.
    • Advanced Excel skills and experience with data warehouse reporting applications.

In accordance with Illinois Equal Pay Act Transparency Notice, the expected salary range for this Illinois position is between $79,872 - $119,808.
