Pricing Manager
 
Mid-States Bolt & Screw, a trusted industrial distributor, is seeking a Pricing Manager to support our growing business and strengthen our commercial strategy. This position is based at our corporate headquarters in Burton, Michigan and offers a hybrid work environment, combining in-office collaboration with the flexibility to work remotely.
 
Job Summary
We are seeking a strategic and analytical Pricing Manager to lead the development and execution of enterprise pricing strategies that drive profitable growth, improve gross margin performance, and strengthen Mid-States Bolt & Screw's competitive position.
 
Working across the organization, this leader partners closely with Sales, Branch Operations, Purchasing, Finance, and Executive Leadership to optimize pricing decisions, maintain pricing governance, and support commercial growth. Success in this role requires strong analytical capabilities, business acumen, collaboration, and a continuous improvement mindset to ensure pricing discipline and long-term profitability.
 
Key Responsibilities
Pricing Strategy & Commercial Performance
  • Develop, implement, and manage pricing strategies that maximize gross profit, EBITDA, and long-term customer value.
  • Analyze customer, product, vendor, and market data to identify pricing opportunities and margin improvement initiatives.
  • Lead customer and product segmentation efforts while evaluating customer profitability and recommending actions to improve account performance.
  • Monitor competitive market conditions and recommend pricing adjustments that balance growth objectives with profitability.
Sales Partnership & Customer Pricing
  • Partner with Sales on customer pricing reviews, contract negotiations, strategic account planning, and profitability analysis.
  • Support strategic account growth while maintaining target margin expectations.
  • Lead price increase initiatives and cost pass-through actions that minimize customer disruption and improve margin realization.
Pricing Governance & Operational Excellence
  • Maintain enterprise pricing policies, approval processes, and governance across all branches.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing and supplier partners to manage cost changes, rebates, contracts, and pricing adjustments.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline pricing processes, automation, and system capabilities.
Analytics & Business Intelligence
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to measure pricing performance, margin trends, compliance, and profitability.
  • Extract, analyze, and interpret ERP data to support pricing decisions and sales effectiveness.
  • Leverage business intelligence tools to provide actionable insights for leadership.
Leadership & Organizational Development
  • Train branch managers and sales teams on pricing strategy, margin management, and profitability best practices.
  • Influence cross-functional teams to strengthen pricing discipline and build organizational pricing capabilities.
Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in pricing, revenue management, sales operations, finance, or industrial distribution.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and large data sets.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with experience using business intelligence tools such as Power BI.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and influencing skills with the ability to build partnerships across multiple functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance revenue growth with margin optimization.
Preferred
  • Experience within industrial distribution, construction products, fasteners, MRO, or related industries.
  • Hands-on experience with Epicor Prophet 21 (P21), including pricing matrices, customer contracts, rebates, cost management, and reporting.
  • Experience integrating P21 data with reporting and analytics platforms such as Microsoft Power BI.
  • Proven success using ERP data to drive pricing decisions, profitability analysis, and commercial performance.
