Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) — Tacoma, Washington

A nationally recognized, value-based healthcare organization is seeking a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join its collaborative primary care team in Tacoma, Washington. Providers are supported by an interdisciplinary care team, including an onsite Health Coach, allowing NPs to focus on delivering comprehensive, whole-person care rather than high-volume patient visits.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $120,000–$160,000+ annually
  • Annual Incentive Plan (AIP): Performance-based annual bonus

Schedule

  • Full-time outpatient schedule
  • 10–15 patients per day
  • Appointment lengths ranging from 20–60 minutes
  • Shared regional after-hours call rotation
  • No routine inpatient responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive primary care services to adult patients
  • Conduct patient histories, physical examinations, and comprehensive health assessments
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions within NP scope of practice
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on each patient's clinical needs and goals
  • Prescribe and manage medications as appropriate
  • Order, interpret, and follow up on laboratory and diagnostic testing
  • Provide preventive care, wellness visits, and age-appropriate health screenings
  • Manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and other common primary care diagnoses
  • Educate patients regarding disease prevention, healthy lifestyle choices, and self-management
  • Collaborate with physicians, Health Coaches, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
  • Utilize onsite laboratory and pharmacy services to streamline patient care
  • Participate in population health initiatives and quality improvement programs
  • Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation
  • Participate in provider meetings, committee work, and process improvement initiatives
  • Support organizational goals related to quality, patient engagement, preventive care, and clinical outcomes
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with patients through patient-centered care

Requirements

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing (MSN, DNP, or equivalent)
  • Current Washington State Nurse Practitioner license or ability to obtain licensure
  • Board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP), or other appropriately credentialed primary care NP
  • National NP certification through an accredited certifying organization
  • Minimum of 3 years of primary care experience preferred
  • Current DEA registration or ability to obtain
  • Current BLS certification
  • Negative Tuberculosis (TB) test within 12 months of start date
  • Experience working in a team-based care environment
  • Experience with electronic medical records; Athena experience preferred
  • Experience with coding, documentation, Medicare Advantage, and HCC coding preferred
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace preferred
  • Strong communication, clinical assessment, and patient education skills
  • Passion for preventive medicine, population health, and relationship-based care
