Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Primary Care Physician and Clinic Preceptor, you will join Dignity Health Medical Group Nevada and its St. Rose Internal Medicine Residency program, providing direct patient care and integral clinical guidance to residents within the Internal Medicine Residency Continuity Clinic located in North Las Vegas.

Every day you will provide direct patient care, ambulatory teaching, resident supervision and clinical leadership. Serve as a role model for professionalism and integrate CommonSpirit Health's mission and values into all aspects of clinical practice, teaching, and leadership.

To be successful in this role, you will need a strong commitment to clinical excellence, patient-centered care, and foster a positive learning environment. Have exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. The ability to mentor and inspire residents and students, translating complex medical concepts into practical, actionable knowledge.

  • Maintain an independent primary care practice, provide comprehensive direct patient care to a panel of general internal medicine patients within the clinic setting
  • Actively participate in departmental and organizational initiatives aimed at standardizing equitable whole person care and improving health outcomes
  • Provide ambulatory teaching and preceptorship to internal medicine residents and medical students, fostering their clinical skills, diagnostic reasoning, and patient management abilities
  • Assume direct supervisory responsibility for internal medicine residents and medical students during their clinical rotations
  • Guide residents in the development and execution of ambulatory-based quality improvement projects, promoting a culture of continuous learning and data-driven improvements
  • New or upcoming graduates of a PGY4 IM Chief Residency or ambulatory focused fellowship (such as geriatrics, addiction medicine or palliative care) are encouraged to apply

Job Requirements

Required

  • MD or DO Degree from an accredited institution.
  • Active Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
  • Completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited residency program in internal medicine or family medicine
  • Active or eligible license in the state of Nevada
  • Demonstrated interest and participation in quality improvement initiatives

Preferred

  • Two (2) years of ambulatory general internal medicine or family medicine experience preferred
  • One (1) year of teaching experience in graduate medical education preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish
