    Position Summary:
    We are seeking a dedicated Primary Care Physician to join our clinical team and provide high-quality care to patients in our Rural Health Clinics, primarily located in Covington, Virginia. The ideal candidate will be passionate about rural healthcare and committed to building long-term relationships with patients while delivering comprehensive, evidence-based primary care.
     
    Job Type: Full-time
     
    Work Schedule:
    Four (4) 10-hour days per week
    No on-call requirements
     
    Responsibilities:
    • Obtain complete health histories and perform thorough physical examinations.
    • Diagnose and develop individualized treatment plans, including preventive care and health maintenance strategies.
    • Manage acute and chronic illnesses for patients across the lifespan.
    • Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state laws and clinical best practices.
    • Coordinate care with specialists, ancillary providers, and community resources as needed.
    • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical team meetings.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to medical staff and participate in the orientation of new clinical providers.
    Qualifications:
    • MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
    • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Med-Peds (Board certification required within 3 years of hire if eligible).
    • Current Virginia medical license or eligibility for licensure.
    • Current DEA certification.
    • Current BLS certification (required).
    • Current ACLS and PALS certifications (required but may be obtained upon hire).
    • Must be insurable for malpractice coverage.
