Join Our Team as a Primary Care Physician

Our organization is on the lookout for dedicated and mission-driven Primary Care Physicians to provide exceptional care to our veterans at the Hemet Community Based Outpatient Clinic. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a modern VA clinic that offers a wide range of services, including primary care, behavioral health, telemedicine, preventive medicine, neurology, infectious disease, laboratory, and audiology services. As one of nine community-based outpatient clinics, we proudly serve over 80,000 veterans in the Inland Empire, ensuring they receive care close to home and enhancing their access to health and wellness services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical supervision and guidance to mid-level practitioners, such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants.
  • Mentor medical students and residents, including interns and fellows.
  • Engage actively in Medical Center committees and collaborative teams.
  • Contribute to facility programs aimed at improving patient care delivery, including Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives.
  • Identify personal professional development needs and participate in educational programs, workshops, and self-directed learning activities, completing mandatory education annually.
  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care to adult and elderly patients aged 65 and older.
  • Stay updated on advancements in disease management and treatment through ongoing medical education.
  • Integrate patient care activities across Primary Care Services and other programs, including Social Work, Prosthetics, Home-Based Health Care (HBHC), and private nursing facilities.
  • Exhibit proficiency in diagnosing and treating complex, multi-symptomatic patients.
  • Ensure timely completion of medical record documentation in CPRS.
  • Involve patients, families, and healthcare providers in setting realistic health education and treatment goals.
  • Plan, implement, and evaluate care tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Utilize advanced clinical judgment and assessment skills to evaluate veterans' health.
  • Identify acute, non-acute, and chronic health issues.
  • Participate in grading sessions for medical students and GME trainees assigned to your services.
Work Schedule

Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Qualifications
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Possess a current, full, and unrestricted medical license in a U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
  • Completion of Internal Medicine Residency Training is required.
Preferred Experience
  • Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Practice is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of primary care experience is ideal, with at least 3 years of recent active clinical practice in primary care, including women's health experience.
