The School District of New Berlin is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Primary Educator (Grades KG-3; Specific Placement TBD) to join the Poplar Creek Elementary School team. This role is designed for an innovative practitioner who excels at delivering individualized and small-group instruction by adapting district curriculum to meet the diverse needs of every pupil.As a key member of our primary team, you will utilize a co-serving instructional model to foster an inclusive, high-expectation environment where all students achieve academic and social-emotional growth. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for foundational literacy and inquiry-based learning, a commitment to data-driven collaboration, and the ability to build strong, efficacy-centered relationships with students and families.

Candidates must demonstrate consistent proficiency in the following components:

Domain 1: Planning and Preparation

  • Individualized Instruction: Develop lesson plans and instructional materials to provide individualized and small-group instruction by adapting the district-approved curriculum to the needs of each pupil while maintaining high expectations.

  • Outcome-Driven Design: Cause successful learning related to school, program, and course goals, as determined by appropriate local, state, and national assessments.

Domain 2: Classroom Environment

  • Student Rapport: Establish and maintain rapport with pupils to ensure an effective learning atmosphere.

  • Intellectual Growth: Cause greater confidence, feelings of efficacy, and intellectual direction in learners.

  • Clear Communication: Communicate academic and behavioral expectations clearly to students and parents.

Domain 3: Instruction

  • Engagement & Interest: Cause greater interest in foundational literacy, mathematics, and inquiry-based learning than was there before, as determined by observations, surveys, and stakeholder feedback.

  • Timely Feedback: Provide specific, timely feedback to students regarding their progress and mastery of key academic concepts and social-emotional skills.

  • Technology Integration: Utilize a strong working knowledge of technologies appropriate to the educational process (e.g., 1:1 devices, interactive platforms) to enhance student learning.

Domain 4: Professional Responsibilities

  • Collaborative Data Analysis: Serve as an active member of a collaborative team to analyze and respond to data, including the use of district-adopted student management and data mining systems (e.g., Infinite Campus, EduClimber).

  • Professional Collaboration: Work in a supportive and collaborative manner with colleagues, utilizing strong team-building skills and participating in the co-serving instructional model.

  • Parental Engagement: Effectively communicate with parents in various ways (e.g., website, newsletters, phone calls, emails, and conferences).

  • District Representation: Engage in life-long learning and positively represent the district at all times with a commitment to public service.
