Job Description

Primary Therapist – Licensed Clinician (LCSW, LPC, LMFT)

Location: APN Lodge, Edwards, Colorado (Vail Valley)

Employment Type: Full-time, On-site

Salary: $100,000 – $116,600

About This Opportunity

All Points North is redefining residential treatment. At APN Lodge in Edwards, Colorado, we treat trauma, addiction, and mental health together through one integrated clinical team operating at a depth most programs do not attempt. Physicians, psychiatrists, nurses, and master's-level therapists work side by side under one unified clinical framework, backed by the resources of a multi-site organization and a national telehealth continuum that stays with patients after discharge.

As a Primary Therapist, you will carry a protected caseload and do the work you trained for: individual, family, and group therapy through a trauma-focused, family-systems lens. You'll work with real clinical supervision and a team built for depth rather than throughput. This is full-time, on-site work with a caseload sized for meaningful clinical impact and structured supervision built into every week.

What You Will Do

  • Provide individual and family therapy through a trauma-focused, family-systems approach
  • Facilitate psychoeducational, experiential, and process groups
  • Complete psychosocial evaluations, individualized treatment plans, ongoing plan reviews, and discharge summaries
  • Coordinate aftercare with the case management team, referents, and families; provide consistent clinical updates
  • Assess each patient's functioning across work, family, and daily living; tailor interventions to stage of change and recovery
  • Maintain accurate, timely progress and incident documentation in the EMR system
  • Participate in case staffing, treatment team reviews, in-services, and continuing education
  • Build and maintain relationships with community providers and referral partners
  • Demonstrate understanding of trauma's role in addiction and dysfunctional behaviors
  • Apply evidence-based models and theories for treatment of trauma, addiction, and mental health disorders
  • Recognize and leverage the importance of family, social networks, and community systems in treatment and recovery

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or marriage and family therapy from an accredited program
  • Independent Colorado licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT, or eligible for licensure by endorsement (PhD/PsyD also considered)
  • Three or more years of clinical experience with substance use and co-occurring mental health populations
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Sound clinical judgment, appropriate professional boundaries, and the flexibility that residential care requires
  • High moral and ethical values; commitment to NAADAC ethical standards
  • Ability to pass background check, criminal records check, drug screen, and provide professional references

Preferred Qualifications

  • Residential treatment experience
  • Trauma-treatment training or specialized experience
  • Addiction credentials (LAC, CAS, or similar)
  • Experience with family-systems or trauma-focused modalities

Essential Attributes

  • Openness to learning and professional growth
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to function as an integral part of an interdisciplinary treatment team
  • Maturity of judgment and behavior
  • Adaptability and flexibility to accommodate changing work conditions and schedules
  • Understanding of the psychological, behavioral, physical, and social effects of substance use
  • Appreciation for the value of research, outcome data, and interdisciplinary approaches to care

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary: $100,000 – $116,600 annual
  • Health Coverage: Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • Retirement: 401(k) with employer matching
  • Time Off: Paid holidays, PTO, and sick time

Living and Working in the Vail Valley

The Vail Valley is expensive, and we're direct about it: APN does not provide employee housing. Here's how it works in practice:

  • Most of our clinical team lives down-valley in Eagle, Gypsum, or surrounding communities—roughly 15–30 minutes from campus—where rents and home prices are materially lower than in Edwards and Vail
  • We provide relocation assistance to cover your move and professional licensing transfer fees
  • We'll connect you with team members who have made the move and can speak candidly about where and how they live

If mountain life is what you want, this is a rare opportunity: work serious clinical depth at 7,000 feet, ten minutes from Beaver Creek, thirty from Vail, on a campus purpose-built for the work rather than adapted to it.

About All Points North

All Points North is one of the country's most comprehensive behavioral health providers, treating trauma, addiction, and mental health across a full continuum of care: residential treatment at APN Lodge in Colorado, partial-hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs in Colorado and Texas, and a national telehealth platform that keeps patients connected to their clinicians long after discharge.

The model is integrated by design. Medicine, psychiatry, nursing, and therapy operate as one team under one clinical framework, so care does not fragment when a patient steps down a level. APN has grown into a multi-site operator while keeping the Lodge as its flagship, and it invests where most programs cut corners: in continuity, in the clinical team, and in the depth of the work itself.

Conditions of Employment

Offers are contingent on a background check, criminal records check, drug screen, professional references, and a transcript from your master's program. Clinicians adhere to NAADAC and applicable licensing-board ethical standards. The role involves routine mobility on a residential campus and regular work at a computer workstation; reasonable accommodations are available.

Equal Opportunity

All Points North is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other legally protected characteristic.

Ready to Make an Impact?

If you're a licensed clinician ready to do meaningful trauma and addiction work with a team that values depth, clinical excellence, and your professional growth, we want to hear from you. Apply now to join All Points North.
