Years’ Experience Required:
10+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 8+ years of experience with an advanced degree.
5+ years of hands-on Salesforce experience (configuration and/or development) with at least 2+ years in a technical lead or architecture role.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. Defines, describes, diagrams and documents the role and interaction of the highlevel technological and human components that combine to provide cost effective and innovative solutions to meet evolving business needs. Promotes, guides and governs good architectural practice through the application of welldefined, proven technology and human interaction patterns and through architecture mentorship. Supports the full lifecycle management of the entire IT portfolio including the selection, appropriate usage, enhancement and replacement of information technology applications, infrastructure and services.
SPECIALIST CAREER STREAM: Typically an individual contributor with responsibility in a professional discipline or specialty. Delivers and/or manages projects assigned and works with other stakeholders to achieve desired results. May act as a mentor to colleagues or may direct the work of other lower level professionals. The majority of time is spent delivering and overseeing the projects from design to implementation while and adhering to policies, using specialized knowledge and skills normally acquired through advanced education (typically University).

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Salesforce Technical Architect to serve as the strategic technology leader for the Salesforce platform and emerging AI capabilities. This individual will lead the architecture and delivery of the Salesforce platform while driving new transformation initiatives across the businesses. The ideal candidate combines deep hands-on Salesforce expertise with enterprise architecture leadership and strong business consulting skills. You will partner with Commercial and IT leadership to define scalable target architectures, establish enterprise standards, guide development teams, and drive adoption of next-generation Salesforce technologies including Health Cloud, Experience Cloud, Integrations (Event Driven/Batch), Agentforce, Data Cloud and AI-powered automation.
This role will provide principal-level technical leadership for complex, high-impact transformation initiatives by accelerating architectural decisions, reducing delivery risk, modernizing the Salesforce landscape, and ensuring globally scalable solutions.
Architecture & Technology Leadership
Serve as the Principal Salesforce Technical Architect for the enterprise Salesforce platform.
Define, implement & govern Salesforce architecture, standards, reusable design patterns, and best practices.
Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, solution architects, and delivery teams to translate business strategy into scalable technology solutions.
Lead architecture governance, portfolio lifecycle decisions (adopt, enhance, modernize, and retire capabilities), and technical roadmap planning to minimize technical debt.
Define, document, and communicate end-to-end solution architecture covering business processes, data, integrations, security, automation, and AI capabilities.
Evaluate emerging Salesforce technologies and recommend adoption strategies aligned with enterprise goals.
Business Consulting & Solution Architecture
Lead discovery sessions and business workshops to understand business capabilities, pain points, and strategic objectives.
Translate business requirements into scalable solution architectures and implementation roadmaps.
Lead technical design workshops with business, product, and engineering teams.
Prepare architecture diagrams, technical specifications, integration designs, and solution documentation.
Estimate level of effort, evaluate technical feasibility, identify implementation risks, and recommend mitigation strategies.
Serve as the trusted advisor for Salesforce platform capabilities and enterprise solution decisions.
A Day in the Life
· Designing and implementing scalable Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, Platform Events, and APIs.
· Strong experience designing, architecting, and implementing Salesforce Experience Cloud solutions for customer, partner, and employee portals.
· Expertise in Experience Cloud architecture, including authentication, authorization, guest user security, sharing model, CMS integration, branding, personalization, and scalable portal design.
· Experience implementing secure authentication mechanisms such as SSO, SAML, OAuth, Just-In-Time (JIT) User Provisioning, and identity management for external users.
· Hands-on experience with Experience Builder, Lightning Web Components (LWC), custom theming, CMS, navigation, and digital user experience optimization.
· Experience integrating Experience Cloud with enterprise systems, content management platforms (e.g., AEM), identity providers, and external APIs.
· Strong understanding of Experience Cloud licensing models, external user security, data sharing strategies, and performance optimization for high-volume external user communities.
· Hands-on experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, JSON, REST APIs, modern UI frameworks, with the ability to build scalable, reusable, and high-performance front-end applications.
· Building AI-powered business solutions using Agentforce, Prompt Builder, and Salesforce AI capabilities.
· Designing scalable customer data solutions leveraging Salesforce Data Cloud and AI-driven insights.
· Leading enterprise integrations using REST, SOAP, Platform Events, WebMethods, middleware, and external APIs.
· Troubleshooting complex production issues, performing root cause analysis, and ensuring high platform reliability.
· Reviewing code, maintaining high code quality standards, and enforcing enterprise development best practices.
· Lead technical delivery for the Salesforce roadmap and strategic Salesforce programs across Neuromodulation and Pelvic Health.
· Own solution design through implementation, SIT, UAT, deployment, and production stabilization.
· Identify technical risks early and proactively drive mitigation plans.
· Support Agile delivery teams by removing technical roadblocks and ensuring solution quality.
· Collaborate with globally distributed teams across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC.
· Mentor Salesforce administrators, developers, and technical leads while fostering engineering excellence.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
· 12+ years of overall IT experience with 10+ years of hands-on Salesforce development and architecture experience.
· Proven experience leading enterprise Salesforce implementations from architecture through delivery.
· Experience integrating Salesforce with enterprise applications using REST, SOAP, Platform Events, WebMethods, middleware, and APIs.
· Experience with Git/Bitbucket, CI/CD pipelines, DevOps, and deployment tools such as Copado.
· Strong understanding of Salesforce data models, security architecture, scalability, and platform performance optimization.
· Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
· Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
· Ability to effectively collaborate with globally distributed cross-functional teams.
· Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and executive presentation skills.
