Primary

Purpose:

Provide

confidential,

non-evaluative

mentoring,

coaching,

and

professional

learning

that

strengthens

principals

and

assistant

principals

instructional

leadership,

operational

effectiveness,

decision-making,

and

ability

to

improve

student

outcomes.

Qualifications:

Education

and

certification:

Masters

degree

from

an

accredited

college

or

university.

Doctoral

degree

in

educational

leadership,

educational

administration,

or

a

closely

related

field

preferred.

Valid

Texas

Standard

Principal

Certificate,

Principal

as

Instructional

Leader

Certificate,

or

Mid-Management

Administrator

Certificate.

Texas

Superintendent

Certificate

preferred

but

not

required.

Experience:

Minimum

of

five

years

of

successful

experience

as

a

campus

principal.

Proven

record

of

campus

leadership

success,

with

clear

evidence

of

student

growth

and

improved

school

outcomes.

Experience

leading

in

a

diverse

public

school

district.

Demonstrated

experience

mentoring,

coaching,

or

providing

professional

development

to

principals,

assistant

principals,

or

aspiring

administrators.

Experience

using

campus,

instructional,

accountability,

climate,

attendance,

and

personnel

data

to

guide

decision-making.

Knowledge

of

Texas

public

school

accountability,

educator

appraisal,

school

improvement,

personnel

practices,

and

campus

operations.

Preferred:

Previous

successful

experience

with

Longview

ISD

or

a

district

of

similar

size

and

student

demographics.

Experience

serving

as

a

principal

at

both

the

elementary

and

secondary

instructional

levels.

Experience

supporting

new

principals

and

assistant

principals.

Knowledge

of

the

Texas

Effective

Schools

Framework

and

Texas

Principal

Standards.

with

a

demonstrated

record

of

successful

campus

leadership

are

encouraged

Basic

Functions

and

Responsibilities:

1.

Allocate

sufficient

time

to

meet

regularly

with

assigned

principals

and

assistant

principals

throughout

the

school

year.

2.

Establish

a

mutually

agreed-upon

coaching

schedule

with

each

assigned

administrator.

3.

Conduct

individual

coaching

sessions

and

meet

with

campus

administrative

teams

as

needed.

4.

Observe

and

coach

the

leadership

practices

of

principals

and

assistant

principals

in

their

campus

settings.

5.

Provide

confidential,

non-evaluative

feedback

focused

on

professional

growth

and

leadership

effectiveness.

6.

Assist

administrators

in

identifying

challenges,

analyzing

root

causes,

evaluating

possible

solutions,

and

developing

actionable

next

steps.

7.

Review

relevant

campus

data

and

documentation,

including

student-performance

data,

improvement

plans,

attendance,

discipline,

staffing,

school

climate,

and

other

indicators.

8.

Assist

administrators

with

establishing

goals

and

tracking

progress

against

the

Texas

Principal

Standards,

district

expectations,

campus

improvement

plans,

and

other

relevant

performance

measures.

9.

Support

principals

and

assistant

principals

in

the

areas

of:

instructional

leadership;

campus

culture

and

climate;

personnel

supervision

and

appraisal;

professional

communication;

conflict

resolution

and

difficult

conversations;

data-driven

decision-making;

time

and

priority

management;

school

safety

and

student

discipline;

staffing,

retention,

and

employee

development;

family

and

community

engagement;

and

campus

operations

and

legal

compliance.

10.

Help

new

administrators

transition

successfully

into

their

roles

and

understand

district

procedures,

resources,

expectations,

and

leadership

practices.

11.

Model

effective

leadership

behaviors

and

provide

practical

tools,

resources,

and

strategies.

12.

Facilitate

professional

development

sessions

for

principals,

assistant

principals,

and

aspiring

administrators

as

requested.

13.

Participate

in

district

leadership

meetings,

administrator

induction

activities,

and

professional

learning

sessions

as

assigned.

14.

Collaborate

with

the

Superintendent,

Deputy

Superintendent,

Chief

of

Schools,

and

other

district

leaders

to

identify

general

leadership-development

needs.

15.

Consult

regularly

with

the

supervising

administrator

regarding

services

provided,

campus

visits,

progress,

and

emerging

areas

of

support

while

maintaining

the

appropriate

confidentiality

of

individual

coaching

conversations.

16.

Maintain

accurate

records

of

mentoring

sessions,

campus

visits,

professional

development

activities,

and

services

provided.

17.

Complete

required

reports,

coaching

logs,

or

other

documentation

within

established

timelines.

18.

Perform

other

duties

consistent

with

the

purpose

of

the

position

as

assigned.

Compensation

and

Assignment:

Stipend

position

$5,000-$20,000

Schedule:

Based

on

district

needs

and

the

mentoring

schedule

established

for

assigned

administrators.

No

minimum

number

of

assignments

or

workdays

is

guaranteed.

This

is

a

supplemental,

noncontract

assignment.

Participation

does

not

change

the

employees

primary

administrative

position,

contract

status,

regular

salary,

benefits,

or

FLSA

classification.

No

additional

benefits

are

provided

for

this

assignment.

Supervisory

This

is

a

mentoring

and

coaching

position

and

does

not

independently

supervise

or

evaluate

assigned

principals

or

assistant

principals.
