Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Client Acquisition:
- Bring existing clients and relationships to position
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the Houston market.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, municipalities, and key industry stakeholders.
- Lead proposals, presentations, and negotiations to secure new projects.
Office Leadership & Operations:
- Establish and grow the Houston office, including hiring and managing staff.
- Provide mentorship, training, and performance management for team members.
- Ensure the office operates efficiently while maintaining high-quality project delivery.
Project & Technical Oversight:
- Lead land development projects from concept to completion, ensuring quality, budget, and timeline adherence.
- Provide technical guidance and ensure compliance with local regulations and codes.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including architects, surveyors, and contractors.
Financial & P&L Management:
- Oversee office financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability.
- Monitor project budgets, invoicing, and cash flow to ensure financial success.
- Drive strategic growth and operational efficiency for long-term success.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas (or ability to obtain quickly).
- 7+ years of civil engineering experience with a focus on land development.
- Proven business development experience with a strong industry network in Texas.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including office/staff management.
- Strong understanding of local land development regulations and permitting processes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
