Principal CNC Machinist – Lathe/Swiss Programming Technical Lead

Location: New Kensington, PA

Picture This

You open Esprit, build a clean post for a Fanuc‑controlled lathe, and translate a complex print into elegant toolpaths. On the floor, you stage tooling, dial in offsets, and launch a first piece that hits spec. You capture the results and hand the completed first article inspection report to the QC Manager. An operator flags you down—you coach through a G‑Code tweak, then tune the process to shave seconds from the cycle. By afternoon, multiple lathes are running steadily, and you’re the technical anchor for the team.

Role Highlights

• Develop and optimize CNC programs in Esprit for CNC lathes to meet customer requirements with repeatable precision.
• Execute independent setups derived from your CNC programs to ensure consistent part quality.
• Keep turning equipment operating at peak efficiency; troubleshoot to minimize downtime.
• Complete and submit first article documentation to the QC Manager for sign‑off.
• Lead the CNC department technically—train, guide, and upskill operators.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 10 years of relevant experience or State Journeyman papers.
• Strong command of Fanuc programming and Esprit (including 3D/CAD‑CAM).
• Excellent troubleshooting ability, clear communication, and reliable basic math skills.

• Proficiencies: CNC Programming, CNC Machine Repair, G‑Code, Machine Setups for Production Runs
• Equipment: CNC Swiss Lathes (Citizen, Tsugami); 5+ Axis CNC Lathes (Nakamura, Doosan)
