Principal Cybersecurity Executive Location: Charlotte, NC (100% Onsite 5 Days/Week)

Duration: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire

Interview Process: 3 Steps About the Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Expert Cybersecurity Executive or Architect or Sr level Engineer to join a rapidly growing cybersecurity organization supporting one of the nation's largest telecommunications environments. This role is being added as part of a significant expansion of the Chief Security Office (CSO), focused on strengthening enterprise cybersecurity capabilities across threat intelligence, security operations, incident response, and response engineering.

This is a highly collaborative role where you'll partner closely with security analysts, engineers, network operations, and leadership to proactively defend critical infrastructure while supporting multiple strategic security initiatives. Required Qualifications

  • Strong experience in enterprise Cybersecurity Engineering, Incident Response, Threat Hunting, or Security Operations
  • Experience within the Telecommunications industry
  • Understanding of mobility and telecommunications networking
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Palo Alto Networks
    • SentinelOne
    • NetWitness
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts and network security.
  • Experience working with endpoint security solutions.
  • Experience using ServiceNow or similar ticketing/ITSM platforms.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • SOC operations
    • Threat Intelligence
    • Incident Response
    • Security Engineering
    • Network Operations
  • Experience investigating advanced threats, malware, insider threats, APTs, botnets, DDoS attacks, and other network-based attacks.
  • Experience working with Windows, Linux, and UNIX environments.
  • Familiarity with cloud architectures and distributed enterprise environments.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, highly collaborative environments. Preferred Qualifications
  • Understanding of mobility and telecommunications networking.
  • Experience supporting large-scale carrier or enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of fiber, IP/MPLS, transport networks, VoIP, broadband, or mobile backhaul technologies.
  • Experience with malware analysis, vulnerability management, digital forensics, or reverse engineering. What You'll Do
  • Lead proactive threat hunting activities to identify advanced cyber threats across enterprise environments.
  • Investigate, contain, and respond to complex security incidents using industry-leading detection and response technologies.
  • Collaborate with Security Operations Center (SOC), Threat Intelligence, Engineering, and Network Operations teams on incident investigations and remediation.
  • Develop and enhance security policies, operational procedures, and incident response playbooks.
  • Perform risk assessments and recommend strategic improvements to strengthen the organization's security posture.
  • Provide technical expertise on endpoint security, network security, and enterprise cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Analyze emerging threats, adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs), and translate findings into actionable defensive measures.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate security controls across enterprise infrastructure.
  • Support multiple concurrent cybersecurity projects within a large-scale enterprise environment. What We're Looking For
