Role: Principal Digital Architect

Loc:  Chicago or Peoria, IL (Local candidates only).

 

Candidate Requirements:

  •  10+ years of overall IT experience
  • Strong experience matching the  required AI and Digital Architecture skill set listed below
  •  Bachelor's degree required

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of architecture experience
  • Strong architectural thinking with the ability to design scalable, enterprise-grade solutions and articulate trade-offs
  • Technical leadership with the ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and business stakeholders
  • Expertise in requirements analysis and translating business needs into technical architecture
  • Strong foundation in platform and application architecture

 

AI & GenAI Expertise

  • Hands-on experience designing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures, including:
  • Data ingestion pipelines
  • Document preprocessing and chunking
  • Embedding models and vectorization
  • Query-time retrieval, ranking, and context assembly
  • Experience with vector databases, similarity search, and embedding optimization
  • Experience with Agentic AI frameworks
  • Ability to architect end-to-end AI workflows, including prompt engineering, context management, model routing, and fallback strategies
  • Strong understanding of LLM lifecycle, including model selection, RAG vs. fine-tuning, evaluation, monitoring, and drift detection
  • Experience optimizing AI systems for performance, latency, cost, security, privacy, and enterprise integration

 

Preferred Skills

  • AI reference architecture and enterprise AI standards
  • Production implementation of AI solutions from PoC to enterprise scale
  • Strong programming skills in  Python and  Java
  • Enterprise-scale distributed systems
