Principal Electrical & Controls Engineer

TRC Talent Solutions is partnering with a global Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) manufacturing leader to hire a Principal Electrical & Controls Engineer. This role will serve as a senior technical leader responsible for automation, controls, and electrical power distribution projects across multiple manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and troubleshoot manufacturing control systems using Allen-Bradley and Rockwell automation platforms.

• Lead electrical infrastructure and industrial power distribution initiatives.

• Serve as the technical lead for automation and controls projects from concept through commissioning.

• Support system integrations, upgrades, and plant modernization efforts.

• Travel to manufacturing facilities to lead deployments, start-ups, and troubleshooting activities.

• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to improve system performance and reliability.

• Provide technical expertise for controls architecture, automation strategy, and electrical systems.

Requirements

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in Electrical and Controls Engineering.

• Strong programming and integration experience with Allen-Bradley and Rockwell systems.

• Extensive knowledge of industrial electrical power distribution.

• Experience leading automation, controls, and electrical infrastructure projects.

• Ability to travel up to 50% as needed.

• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and project leadership skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) manufacturing environments.

• Background with a systems integrator supporting industrial automation projects.

• Experience supporting large-scale manufacturing operations and capital projects.

Compensation

• Base Salary: $130,000 - $145,000

• 10% Annual Bonus

• 401(k) with 6% Employer Match
