Principal Electrical Engineer

We're building out a Data Center Division and seeking a Principal Electrical Engineer to serve as technical leader for mission-critical infrastructure projects. You'll act as subject matter expert across multiple projects, shaping engineering standards and delivering resilient power systems for hyperscale and enterprise clients.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as Electrical Technical Authority, overseeing design, execution, and commissioning of MV/LV power distribution (utility interconnection, substations, switchgear, UPS, generators, critical load distribution)
Develop design standards and guide redundancy strategies (N, N+1, 2N, 3:2, etc.) for uptime/reliability requirements
Perform/review load flow, short circuit, coordination, and arc flash studies (ETAP/SKM)
Collaborate cross-functionally; lead design reviews (30/60/90%), HAZOPs, and commissioning planning
Engage clients as trusted advisor; support proposals and business development
Coordinate key vendors; mentor engineering staff; support fast-track/modular delivery (E-Houses, skids)

Qualifications

BS in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited);
PE license required
10+ years' experience, with significant mission-critical/data center exposure
Strong NEC/NFPA/IEEE knowledge; ETAP/SKM expertise
Hyperscale/colocation client experience preferred

Preferred: Uptime Institute Tier classification, microgrids/energy storage, design-build/EPC delivery experience
