Seeking a Principal Engineer - Mechanical HVAC Design Engineer to support our client in Aiken, SC.

The Contractor will define the scope of technical programs and develop effective, quality solutions to challenges involving unique or controversial problems. Creatively meet all company and industry requirements and apply site systems to achieve quality, timely and cost-effective results. Give quality guidance and assistance to less senior professionals on related tasks.

Provide design engineering staff augmentation support
Primary responsibilities include:
HVAC design development and generation of design output documents including but not limited to calculations for equipment sizing, duct sizing, pressure drops, cooling tower sizing, heating and cooling loads, and air balancing.
Create/modify piping and instrumentation diagrams, system descriptions, mechanical equipment lists, integration with fire protection design, and vendor document reviews.
Engineering Services shall be provided using client processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by the client.
Additional Work Requirements
Candidate must be able to perform weekly field walk downs of the job site for the engineering work being performed. These walk downs may involve construction sites with uneven surfaces and work in progress, walking for distances of over half a mile, climbing of ladders to access remote areas, and dressing out in protective clothing.
Work Hours: A 40 hour work week is scheduled. SRNS utilizes various work schedules including 5/8s (8 hour/day; five days per week), 4/10's (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80's (9 hours/day, five days on week AA and four days on week BB. Work week excludes client holidays. Each workday has 30-minute lunch. Overtime will be expected at times to meet deliverables and will be utilized at the discretion of the Manager. The anticipated work schedule is Monday - Thursday, 6:45 am to 5:15 pm.
Area Security Access: Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance. An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. After award, the selected candidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on specific work assignments.
