Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline and at least 8 - 10 years of practical experience in construction inspection or related areas. An Associate's degree and 10 - 12 years of practical experience would be considered equivalent. A high school diploma and 12 - 16 years of practical experience would also be considered equivalent.

Duration of the Contract: (1) year with the option to extend for (2) additional (1) year option years.
Option Periods are not guaranteed and are executed at the discretion of the hiring manager.
Yearly options will automatically include a 3.5% escalation.

JOB TITLE: Principal Quality Control Engineer
DUTIES :
Supervise and direct quality control engineers assigned to perform inspections and surveillance in
support of project work and/or maintenance activities. Provide quality control support to
construction management and direct personnel to implement quality requirements and to
accurately status the results. Establish priorities which support construction/operations needs.
Resolve complex problems which develop during the implementation of quality activities by
coordinating with internal and external departments. Provide leadership which inspires efficient
performance of assignments, safe work habits, timely exchange of information and each
individuals' commitment to site policies. Participate in contract discussions relating to quality
activities. Prepare comprehensive status reports for construction quality activities. Review and
approve subcontractors quality procedures and monitor their adherence to those procedures.
Coordinate the activities of assigned quality control engineers and with other construction
departments to ensure that construction is in compliance with site specifications and standards.
Prepare quality procedures to ensure proper inspection, testing and surveillance activities are
being performed. Provide effective quality training programs and ensure assigned personnel are
qualified to perform assigned tasks. Prepare performance evaluations of assigned personnel.
Work Hours: A 40 hour work week is scheduled. SRNS utilizes various work schedules including
5/8s (8 hour/day; five days per week), 4/10's (10 hours/day; four days per week), and 9/80's (9
hours/day, five days on week AA and four days on week BB. Work week excludes SRNS holidays.
Each workday has 30-minute lunch. Overtime will be expected at times to meet deliverables and
will be utilized at the discretion of the Manager.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Area Security Access: Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q security
clearance. An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. After
award, the selected candidate will be notified when to apply for a clearance based on specific work
assignments.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) years are
preferred.

These responsibilities and qualifications are in addition to the provided Human
Resources approved position description. The original position description should not
be modified in any form.
Additional Duties
- Develop, revise, and perform peer reviews of Quality Control Inspection Plans related to
electrical and I&C, in accordance with Design Output documents, Codes, and Standards.
- Perform field related inspections in accordance with Quality Control Inspection Plans.
- Document inspection results on applicable inspection records and issue Non-
Conformance reports as required.
- Review product and process compliance with all specified drawings, specifications, and
other requirements through inspection and/or review of supplied materials and equipment

eFOCI and approved Facility Level Clearance with DOE / NNSA.
- Candidates who have possessed an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2)

o Please note Travel cannot take place until it has been approved by
procurement via a fully funded requisition and added to the Task Order
Authorization. A justification, travel locations, estimated cost, and dates of
travel must be provided prior to procurement approval. SRNS will not
reimburse for travel to conferences or trainings. Please remember, all rates
are fully burdened and should include all costs outside of direct business
travel.
