This position is instrumental in driving the supply base to provide consistently high‑quality parts to support our customers. It is a full time on‑site role in Salt Lake City, Utah.What you'll get to do:Represent Northrop Grumman to the supply chain with credibility, confidence, and professionalism, and support the maintenance of the approved supplier list.Engage in program activities to identify and quantify supplier performance as a proactive risk mitigation.Represent Supplier Performance Management (SPM) at various program reviews and review boards including Configuration Control Board (CCB), Material Review Board (MRB), Program Management Reviews (PMR), Design/Peer Reviews, Manufacturing/Test Readiness Reviews and Corrective Action Board (CAB), Process improvement (CI), Supplier Product Readiness Review (SPRR), providing input to critical supplier scorecards.Perform Specification/Drawing Compliance Reviews, FAIRs (First Article Inspections) approvals per AS9102 to ensure suppliers can ship conforming and timely products, and support Receiving Inspection on various category hardware such as PWBs, CCAs, cables and connectors, microelectronics, electro‑mechanical systems, and mechanical components & assemblies.Perform process and product audits along with capacity assessments to ensure the supplier's processes are robust and capable, and compliant with Military and Space requirements.Review supplier quality history and drive activities to improve performance through partnership – return‑to‑green plans, initiate and manage SCARs (Supplier Corrective Action Reports) to address non‑conforming material, identify root cause and ensure robust corrective actions are implemented. Candidate should have strong knowledge of the Quality Management System, using tools such as 8D, 5 Whys, and Fish‑bone diagram.Assist with program cost estimate development related to supplier quality activities.Liaison to SPM Field supplier quality engineers (FSQE) for program related actions and information.Travel to suppliers, as required, to oversee quality investigations and complete design reviews.The ideal candidate must have great communication skills, leadership skillset, maintain positive relationships with internal and external teams, be customer‑oriented with a sense of urgency, and be able to travel up to 25% of the time domestically.Qualifications:Basic Qualifications for the Principal Engineer Supplier Quality:Bachelor's Degree – Minimum of 5 years of work experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Supply chain environments, or Master's Degree – Minimum of 3 years of experience in these areas.Experienced with root cause analysis tools.Experienced with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 requirements.Experienced with Quality Management System.Valid Driver's License.Must have an active U.S. Government Secret level security clearance.U.S. Citizenship required.Preferred Qualifications for the Principal Engineer Supplier Quality:Master's Degree in a related Quality or Engineering discipline and experience/certified in lean.SAP experience.Experience with Excel/pivot tables and data analysis.Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and types of Engineering Drawings as described in ASME Y14.5 & Y14.24.Experience with J-STD-001, IPC‑A‑600, 610, 620 or MIL‑STD‑883.Experience with Earned Value Management and CAM.Auditor experience for ISO 9001 and AS9100, AS9102 requirements.Experience with Six‑sigma quality engineering methodologies.Current active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance, or higher.What We Can Offer You:Northrop Grumman provides a comprehensive benefits package and a work environment that encourages your growth and supports the mutual success of our people and our company.Benefits include Health Plan, Savings Plan, Paid Time Off, Education Assistance, Training and Development, 9/80 Work Schedule (where available), and more.Primary Level Salary Range: $89,400.00 – $134,200.00Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonus, and Long Term Incentives for certain positions.
