Johnson & Johnson is seeking a Principal Engineer Systems Engineering to support complex product development programs by applying systems engineering principles throughout the product lifecycle. This role will be responsible for requirements management, system architecture, risk management, verification and validation planning, and cross-functional technical leadership to ensure successful delivery of high-quality, compliant products.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, manage, and maintain system-level requirements with full traceability throughout the product lifecycle.
Support system architecture development, interface definition, and technical decision-making.
Participate in risk management activities, design reviews, and change impact assessments.
Develop and review verification and validation (V&V) strategies, test plans, and execution plans.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Quality, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Business stakeholders.
Ensure technical solutions meet quality, regulatory, and business requirements.
Support continuous improvement of systems engineering processes, methodologies, and tools.
Provide technical leadership and contribute to successful product development initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
5 10 years of experience in Systems Engineering, Product Development, R&D, or a related field.

Requirements Management
Risk Management
Verification & Validation (V&V)
Design Control Processes
Hands-on experience with Polarion or similar requirements management tools (DOORS, Jama, etc.).
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional product development environment.
Preferred Skills
Experience working in regulated industries such as Medical Devices, Healthcare, Life Sciences, or other highly regulated environments.
Strong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle, design reviews, and product development processes.
Experience collaborating with Quality and Regulatory teams on product compliance.
This position is ideal for experienced Systems Engineers who have led requirements management, system architecture, risk analysis, and V&V activities while working closely with cross-functional teams in a product development environment.
