    Principal Engineer Weymouth Mass

    We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Electronic & Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and support of embedded electronic systems and products. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for driving hardware, firmware, and software development from concept through production while supporting manufacturing, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.

    The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in embedded systems, circuit design, and firmware development with strong problem-solving, collaboration, and mentoring skills.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead the design and development of embedded electronic systems, including hardware, firmware, and supporting software
    • Define system architecture, specifications, and technical requirements
    • Design analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits for manufacturability and reliability
    • Develop embedded firmware using C/C++ for microcontroller-based systems
    • Create and maintain production, calibration, and test software applications
    • Design PCB schematics and layouts using Altium, KiCad, or similar tools
    • Perform hardware bring-up, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting
    • Develop test fixtures, validation systems, and production test strategies
    • Support manufacturing, assembly, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives
    • Participate in design reviews and ensure product performance and reliability
    • Mentor junior engineers and collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred
    • 10 15+ years of experience in embedded systems and electronic product design
    • Strong expertise in embedded firmware development using C/C++
    • Experience with analog and digital circuit design and PCB development
    • Hands-on experience with hardware debugging and system troubleshooting
    • Familiarity with production test systems and manufacturing support
    • Experience with Python, C#, .NET, or similar tools is a plus
    • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems, Lean manufacturing, or Six Sigma methodologies preferred
    • Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and mentoring skills

    Work Environment:
    Hands-on role within both engineering and manufacturing environments, requiring collaboration across departments and support of production activities.
