Description Amazon Advertising helps brands connect with customers through solutions like Sponsored Ads, Display, Video, and Audio Advertising. Within Advertising, the Measurement, Ad Tech, and Data Science (MADS) organization builds the products and science that help advertisers understand the impact of their campaigns and make smarter marketing decisions. We are looking for a Principal Finance to serve as the primary finance partner for the Measurement team within MADS, supporting 1P and 3P Measurement, Omnichannel Metrics, and Amazon Shopper Panel. This role is responsible for running weekly business reviews, defining and reporting on key performance indicators, sizing measurement incentives, and delivering standalone analyses that drive business decisions. You will partner closely with product, engineering, data science, and sales teams to translate financial data into actionable insights that shape the direction of the business. In addition to strategic business partnering, this role owns financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting for the Measurement portfolio, and partners with BIE and analytics teams to build scalable reporting and dashboards. You will manage one Finance Manager and be expected to develop talent while fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture. The ideal candidate brings strong financial acumen, a track record of influencing senior leaders through data-driven insights, and a genuine passion for partnering with business teams to solve complex problems. Key job responsibilities Business Partnering & Performance Management - Serve as the primary finance partner for Measurement leadership, supporting 1P and 3P Measurement, Omnichannel Metrics, and Amazon Shopper Panel - Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, proactively identifying risks, opportunities, and blockers that impact quarterly and annual goals - Run weekly business reviews, define and report on key performance indicators, and own communication of financials to senior Measurement and MADS leadership - Evaluate and size measurement incentive programs to drive advertiser adoption, partnering with business teams to set the right level of incentives Financial Planning, Analysis & Reporting - Own FP&A for the Measurement portfolio, including OP planning, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis - Deliver standalone analyses that translate financial data into actionable insights influencing product roadmaps, investment decisions, and business strategy - Partner with BIE and analytics teams to build scalable dashboards, data pipelines, and automated reporting solutions Cross-Functional Collaboration & People Management - Partner with product, engineering, data science, and sales teams to align financial strategy with business priorities - Collaborate across Advertising Finance and broader finance teams to ensure consistency in planning and reporting - Manage and develop one Finance Manager, providing coaching, strategic direction, and career development support Basic Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, and Computer Science) - 8+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience - 8+ years of spearheading strategic cross-functional initiatives that deliver measurable financial results and advance organizational objectives experience - 2+ years of hiring, leading and developing teams experience Preferred Qualifications - MBA, or CFA - Experience in TM1, Data Warehouse and SQL - 5+ years of working with senior staff (e.g. c-suite) experience - 5+ years of hiring, leading and developing teams experience - Advertising or Media experience is a plus Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
