    Description

Trusted by more startups around the world, AWS makes the power of cloud computing and AI accessible for all by giving founders everywhere access to the same technology that powers the world"s largest companies. With experience gained from supporting hundreds of thousands of startups, we help founders prove that their world-changing ideas are possible - at any stage of growth or level of funding.

The AWS Startup Marketing team is seeking a seasoned, strategic Principal GMM Individual Contributor to serve as the primary interface between AWS Startup Marketing and the AWS Partner and Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) teams. The Startup Marketing team owns the overall messaging to the startup community and is accountable for a consistent brand and message throughout the customer journey - from idea to enterprise scale. In this role, you will work with the AWS Partner and WWSO team to define marketing growth strategies and scalable frameworks that help startup partners succeed at every stage of their journey. You will align go-to-market motions, develop maturity models for high-potential startup partners, and design enablement programs and joint marketing plan frameworks that drive AWS adoption. As a Principal IC, you will operate as a recognized subject-matter expert and trusted advisor to senior leadership - influencing across a broad set of worldwide stakeholders, resolving ambiguity where org priorities meet, and engaging strong ecosystem players to accelerate partner growth.

You are the connection point between the orgs, keeping all teams aligned around our agreed messaging. As a Principal IC, you will operate as a recognized subject-matter expert and trusted advisor to senior leadership, influencing across a broad set of worldwide stakeholders. You will define and steward the shared messaging framework, resolve ambiguity where org priorities meet, and set the mechanisms that keep Startup Marketing, Partner, and WWSO teams interlocked as the strategy and the customer journey evolve.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Serve as the primary interface aligning AWS Startup Marketing, Partner, and WWSO teams around a shared, consistent startup message across the entire customer journey from idea to enterprise scale.
    • Define and steward the shared messaging framework and interlock mechanisms that keep the three orgs aligned as strategy evolves, ensuring smooth handoffs so customers engage with the right team at the right time.
    • Design go-to-market motions and maturity models that identify and accelerate high-potential startups through targeted marketing programs, including with- and through-partner ABM motions.
    • Build scalable marketing frameworks that help startups succeed across the partner journey, from early engagement through enterprise scale.
    • Influence and activate senior leaders and ecosystem players (VCs, accelerators, ISVs) across Marketing, Partner, and WWSO to drive alignment, resolve ownership ambiguity, and represent Startup Marketing in cross-org GTM forums.

    About Company

At Amazon, we don’t wait for the next big idea to present itself. We envision the shape of impossible things and then we boldly make them reality. So far, this mindset has helped us achieve some incredible things. Let’s build new systems, challenge the status quo, and design the world we want to live in. We believe the work you do here will be the best work of your life.

Wherever you are in your career exploration, Amazon likely has an opportunity for you. Our research scientists and engineers shape the future of natural language understanding with Alexa. Fulfillment center associates around the globe send customer orders from our warehouses to doorsteps. Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

    It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

    Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
