Position Description:

Our client is seeking a Principal to help lead their investment activity, with a primary mandate to originate proprietary deal flow and expand the firm's capital base through LP, Direct and co-investor relationships. This is a senior, externally facing role for an investor with an established network across founders, funds, and capital allocators, and a track record of converting relationships into closed deals and committed capital. The Principal will work closely with the investment team on diligence and portfolio strategy, but the core mandate is growth: more high-quality deal flow in, more capital in, and a stronger market position for the platform.

Responsibilities:

Deal Sourcing
\n
- \n
- Build and own a proprietary pipeline of investment opportunities across fintech, AI, deep tech, defense tech, dual-use, and frontier technology
- \n
- Cultivate and maintain a network of founders, operators, co-investors, and other fund managers to generate off-market and early access to deals
- \n
- Represent the firm at industry conferences, founder events, and investor gatherings to build visibility and reputation in target sectors
- \n
- Lead first-look conversations with founders and drive deals through screening, diligence, and investment committee
- \n
- Develop and refine investment theses for priority sectors, identifying emerging trends ahead of the broader market
- \n
- Manage and grow a network of scouts, angels, and referral sources to increase inbound deal quality and volume
- \n
\n
Fundraising & Capital Relationships
\n
- \n
- Lead fundraising efforts for future vehicles, co-investment opportunities, and any special purpose vehicles, including LP targeting, materials development, and process management
- \n
- Build and maintain relationships with limited partners, family offices, and institutional allocators
- \n
- Represent the firm in capital-raising conversations, including drafting and presenting fund materials, data rooms, and performance updates
- \n
- Identify and cultivate co-investment partners for larger checks and follow-on rounds
- \n
- Support the development of LP reporting materials and investor communications in partnership with finance
- \n
\n
Investment & Portfolio Support
\n
- \n
- Lead due diligence on priority deals, including market analysis, competitive positioning, and reference calls
- \n
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior investment team members on deal execution and modeling
- \n
- Contribute to firm strategy, including sector prioritization and platform-building initiatives
- \n

Experience
\n
- \n
- BA/BS from a leading undergraduate institution; MBA a plus but not required
- \n
- 8+ years of experience in venture capital, growth equity, or a related field, with a demonstrated track record of sourcing and closing investments
- \n
- Established network of founders, co-investors, and/or LPs in fintech, AI, deep tech, defense tech, dual-use, or frontier technology
- \n
- Prior experience contributing to or leading a fundraising process (fund-level or SPV)
- \n

- Demonstrated ability to originate proprietary deal flow and convert relationships into closed investments

- Strong existing relationships with limited partners, family offices, or institutional allocators
- \n
- Excellent judgment and investment sense, with the ability to form and defend independent points of view on companies and markets
- \n
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including comfort presenting to investment committees and prospective LPs
- \n
- Strong financial acumen; ability to guide and sanity-check modeling and diligence work done by junior team members
- \n
- Entrepreneurial, self-directed, and comfortable operating with significant autonomy in a small, high-trust team
- \n
- High intellectual horsepower and curiosity, with a genuine passion for venture investing and emerging technology

- Willingness to travel domestically (and occasionally internationally) for sourcing, diligence, and fundraising
