Carolina Charter Academy is seeking a strong, student-centered Principal to lead the daily life and instructional program of our growing K–8 school. The Principal will serve as the school’s instructional leader and day-to-day campus leader, working closely with the Superintendent to support academic excellence, a strong and inclusive school culture, effective communication, and steady school improvement.
The successful candidate will be a visible, approachable, and responsive leader who builds trust, strengthens unity, and fosters confidence across the school community, bringing consistency, clarity, and steady follow-through to leadership practices.
Lead the academic program and promote high expectations for student learning and achievement
Supervise and support teachers, assistant principals, and other school-based staff
Strengthen school culture, student support systems, and day-to-day operational effectiveness
Promote clear, timely, transparent, and consistent communication with staff and families, ensuring expectations are well understood and sustained over time
Build trust and foster a positive, collaborative school community that values staff voice and family partnership
Use data to guide school improvement and instructional decisions
Support beginning teachers and staff development
Manage assigned school-based resources responsibly and authorize routine budgeted expenditures within established limits
Work closely with the Superintendent to align school operations with the school’s mission, vision, and strategic priorities
Establish and maintain clear, consistent expectations and ensure reliable follow-through in communication and decision-making across the school
Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, School Administration, or a related field required
North Carolina principal licensure or eligibility preferred
Successful experience in teaching and school leadership required with a minimum of two years as an assistant principal
Demonstrated ability to support staff, improve student outcomes, and build strong school culture
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
Experience in a charter school setting or a similarly mission-driven school environment preferred
