Minimum Qualifications:
- A valid Michigan teacher certificate with at least five (5) years of successful teaching experience
- A master's degree or higher in school administration or educational leadership
- Successful experience as a school administrator five (5) years preferred.
- Highly effective communication skills
- Strong relational skills with demonstrated ability to foster positive relationships with students, parents, and staff
- Demonstrated ability to lead and grow others
- Ability to withstand the strain of the position
Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe building that creates an atmosphere conducive to learning
- Skill in leading a data-centered and achievement oriented school culture
- Leads and supervises the implementation of research based instructional strategies for all grade levels, including students with special needs and English Language Learners, to increase student achievement
- Administers the total operation of the school and its personnel
- Supervises school improvement and staff development
- Directs, supervises, and evaluates the instructional program and instructional staff
- Monitors and leads curriculum implementation and execution
- Establishes high expectations for teacher and student performance
- Coordinates building level programs and/or initiatives
- Communicates regularly with families regarding student behavioral performance and academic achievement
- Understands the educational implications for students with disabilities
- Participates in IEP/504 meetings
- Plans, promotes, and delivers in-depth and ongoing professional learning
- Plans staff, departmental and other special meetings
- Assists in the selection and procurement of teaching and non-teaching personnel
- Leads school accreditation responsibilities
- Support and attend student extracurricular activities
- Assists in planning and developing the school budget and supervises the expenditures from this budget and all fiscal matters pertaining to the school
- Active and contributing member of the District Safety Committee and responsible for the implementation and fidelity of safety related expectations
- Administers the total operation of the school and its personnel
- Attends all regular Board of Education meetings, as requested
- Attends all administrative staff meetings, as requested
- Serves on various District-wide committees as needed
- All other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee
This position is classified as Exempt
Employment is contingent upon disclosure in accordance with PA-189.
Ability to withstand the strains and successfully manage the responsibilities of the position.
Must demonstrate reliability and punctuality, with a strong record of consistent attendance. Regular and dependable presence during school hours is essential.
