Principal Marine Robotics Service Specialist

Do you thrive on untangling tough electromechanical problems that others can’t crack?
Are BLDC motors, servo drives, sensors, and embedded controllers your comfort zone?
Do you enjoy hopping on a plane—about 50% of the time—to keep mission‑critical subsea equipment operating?
Can you turn deep diagnostics into clear reports, confident customer guidance, and lasting design improvements?
What you’ll tackle
Travel globally to troubleshoot and resolve advanced faults across electrical, software, mechanical, and system interfaces in subsea thrusters, actuators, and propulsion platforms.
Lead root‑cause investigations; implement fixes, retrofits, and engineering changes on site.
Inspect installed systems and document findings with precise, actionable service reports.
Stand in as the customer’s primary technical representative during critical incidents.
Coach operators and maintainers through hands‑on training—inspection, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance best practices.
Help customers interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
Configure, monitor, and debug motor controllers and embedded systems with laptops, software utilities, and communication interfaces.
Use oscilloscopes, multimeters, bench supplies, and related tools to isolate component‑level faults.
Feed field insights into Engineering, Production, Quality, and Service to drive reliability, corrosion protection, assembly, and serviceability improvements.
Author and refine service manuals, maintenance procedures, troubleshooting flows, and training materials.
What you bring
8–10 years repairing complex electromechanical systems; proven ability to troubleshoot down to component and subsystem level.
Strong command of diagnostic software and control interfaces.
Proficiency reading electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical specs.
Clear, concise technical writing and reporting.
Self‑directed, customer‑facing problem solver who operates with minimal supervision.
Valid passport (or ability to obtain) and willingness to travel domestically and internationally about half the time.
Core competencies
Electrical troubleshooting; DC power systems
Brushless DC motors; motor controllers/servo drives
Embedded systems; power electronics
Sensors and instrumentation
Wiring/harnessing; industrial connectors
Nice to have
Experience with subsea/marine propulsion, ROVs, AUVs, underwater robotics, defense, or oceanographic equipment.
Military electronics, naval engineering, or marine technical background.
Field support for mission‑critical gear; familiarity with pressure‑compensated subsea equipment.
Customer training delivery; participation in root‑cause and reliability initiatives.
IPC certification or knowledge of electronic assembly workmanship standards.
