As a Principal Member of Technical Staff, you will be part of a prestigious technical career program designed for engineers passionate about new and emerging technologies. In this role, you will leverage your deep technical expertise, leadership skills, and strategic vision to develop impactful technology solutions that advance AT&T’s broadband and wireless services.

What You’ll Do

• Architect, design, and develop advanced systems and solutions in a fast-paced R&D environment focused on emerging technologies, including Generative AI and Agentic AI.

• Lead the creation and evolution of products, technical architectures, hardware/software engineering, security, and quality assurance processes.

• Provide subject matter expertise during continuous integration and deployment cycles, resolving complex engineering challenges.

• Collaborate cross-functionally to align technical solutions with business objectives and customer needs.

• Drive innovation in wired broadband and wireless service domains through forward-thinking system designs.

• Mentor and guide teams to foster technical excellence and effective collaboration.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related STEM field with 8+ years of relevant experience (or Master’s/PhD with equivalent experience).

• Minimum 6 years of progressive experience developing high-volume Java applications using Java, Spring Framework, and REST APIs.

• At least 4 years of experience in wired broadband and/or wireless service management domains.

• Proven track record of leading projects end-to-end, from concept through full implementation.

• Strong collaborative skills to serve as a liaison across diverse teams, driving alignment and delivery.

• Balanced technical and leadership abilities to connect engineering execution with strategic goals.

• Innovative mindset with curiosity and creativity to explore complex system designs and “what if?” scenarios.

• Preferred experience or strong interest in Generative AI and Agentic AI technologies.

Our Principal Member of Technical Staff, earns between $160,900-$241,300 USD Annual, not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
