PRINCIPAL METALLURGIST - TECHNOLOGY
The Principal Metallurgist - Technology is responsible for providing a diversified range of technical services to internal and external customers, supporting the attainment of Company and division goals. Key responsibilities include:
• Making disposition of referred, non-conforming and off-standard material, including but not limited to RMRs and customer claims. • Providing training and education to key customers. • Providing leadership to less-experienced staff. • Providing support, leadership and guidance to peers, customers and manager in key projects and opportunities. • Leading others in the use of statistical methods and experimental design. • Managing functional project teams to address and solve complex technical problems and recognize business trends for alloy and process development, including project planning and budget compliance. • Recognizing and communicating technical risk to management. • Applying SPC, six-sigma and/or BPI tools to detect project inefficiencies. • Performing all other duties and special projects as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS FOR THE PRINCIPAL METALLURGIST - TECHNOLOGY
To be considered for the Principal Metallurgist - Technology position, the following requirements must be met:
• Bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering, Materials Science or related field required. • 8 or more years relevant experience required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE PRINCIPAL METALLURGIST - TECHNOLOGY
