Principal Metrology & Gauging Engineer

The selected individual will act as a leading authority in dimensional and surface measurement processes, coordinating with teams in engineering, quality control, and manufacturing. This role involves supporting facilities worldwide, managing large-scale equipment projects, and championing continuous enhancement in measurement system efficiency and process capability. This visible role offers extensive interaction with various organizational units on a global level.

Key Responsibilities:
- Spearhead the integration and implementation of state-of-the-art measurement and gauging technologies at global sites.
- Offer expert technical advice on coordinate measuring machines, optical measurement tools, and automated inspection mechanisms.
- Act as a subject matter expert in dimensional measurement, calibration, and measurement uncertainty assessments.
- Ensure metrology equipment is calibrated, verified, and meets industry compliance standards.
- Formulate and execute advanced technical plans that meet quality and operational objectives.
- Oversee equipment projects, from initial requirements to vendor collaboration, installation, deployment, and ongoing performance refinement.
- Budget management, resource allocation, and adherence to timelines for project completion.
- Drive product and process evaluations to guide cost efficiencies and process enhancements.
- Utilize statistical evaluations to boost measurement and quality performance.
- Lead initiatives enhancing inspection methods, throughput, quality assurance, safety, and manufacturing efficiencies.
- Support global operations through in-depth analysis, troubleshooting, and best practice implementations.
- Foster collaboration with facility leadership to harmonize measurement methodologies across international operations.
- Manage diverse technical projects concurrently using project management tools.
- Provide training and mentorship to technical staff in gauging technologies.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or related field required, Master's preferred.
- Over 7 years of expertise in metrology, manufacturing engineering, or quality assurance with cutting-edge inspection technology.
- Proficient in CMM operation and maintenance, GD&T, engineering schematics, and calibration methodologies.
- Familiar with optical and laser technologies and on-machine measurement solutions.
- Skilled in statistical and analytical tools such as JMP.
- Proven leadership in equipment projects and multi-disciplinary technical efforts.
- Strong skills in project management and effective communication.
- Adept at collaborating with global teams.
- Problem-solver able to integrate strategic initiatives and facility-specific support.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% internationally.
