MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education Master's Degree or higher with Educational Leadership certification as required by the Professional Standards Commission Experience Minimum of five successful years as an educator Experience as an assistant principal preferred Such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be appropriate and acceptable. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices. Knowledge of school improvement planning and data analysis. Knowledge of personnel management and supervision practices. Knowledge of school finance, budgeting, and resource allocation. Ability to lead instructional improvement and monitor student achievement. Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with staff, students, families, and community stakeholders. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES: Instructional Leadership & School Improvement Provides leadership and accountability in collaboration with all school stakeholders to improve instructional programs and student outcomes. Directs and supervises the development, implementation, and monitoring of the School Improvement Plan (SIP). Uses data to guide decision-making and improve teaching and learning. Supervises and supports instructional staff to improve instructional quality and student achievement. Staff Supervision & Human Resources Supervises and evaluates certified and classified staff in accordance with district evaluation systems. Participates in the recruitment, selection, assignment, and retention of school personnel. Promotes professional growth, collaboration, and shared leadership among staff. Encourages accountability, initiative, and continuous improvement. School Operations & Management Oversees daily school operations, including scheduling, discipline, and student services. Administers policies and procedures related to student behavior, attendance, and academic progress. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and district regulations. Maintains responsibility for the schools safety, security, and overall climate. Student Services & Community Engagement Maintains positive relationships with students, families, and community stakeholders. Communicates effectively regarding student progress, school programs, and expectations. Supports student success through counseling, intervention, and support systems. Serves as the primary liaison between the school, district leadership, and the community. Fiscal & Resource Management Oversees school finances and ensures compliance with district and state fiscal procedures. Ensures all purchases are made in accordance with district policies and statutory requirements. Maintains accurate financial records and submits required reports for audit and review. Ensures proper use and maintenance of school facilities, equipment, and resources. School Governance & Compliance Ensures proper completion and distribution of student records, including report cards and transcripts. Oversees school-sponsored activities and ensures compliance with district guidelines. Coordinates communication with the School Council and supports governance processes. Designates appropriate leadership in the principals absence. Professional Responsibilities Maintains required licenses, certifications, and credentials. Participates in professional learning and stays current on educational research and best practices. Follows work scheduling and attendance requirements in a regular, predictable, and punctual manner. Ensures adherence to safety procedures. Follows federal and state laws, as well as Board policies and district procedures. Performs other duties as assigned. WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require some lifting (up to 50 pounds), carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires 30% sitting, 40% walking, and 30% standing.
