This Principal Network Development Engineer (NDE) is focused on design and support of network fabric and systems. You will leverage a combination of a deep level understanding of networking at the protocol level, coupled with programming skills to support the intensive automation required to operate a production environment. US: Hiring Range in USD from: $102,300 to $209,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle''s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

- Supports the design, deployment, and operations of a large-scale, global Oracle cloud computing environment (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure - OCI)
- Participates in network solution and architecture design process. Responsibility for developing standalone features.
- Responsible for decomposing designs into executable tasks and executing those tasks (will primarily use existing procedures and tools to develop and execute); collaborate with program/project managers to develop milestones and deliverables.
- Participate in operational rotations as either primary or secondary. Provide break-fix support for events and serve as escalation point for remediation; participate in post-event root cause analysis.
- Collaborate with network vendor technical account team and internal Quality Assurance team to drive bug resolution and assist in the qualification of new firmware and/or operating systems. May participate in the development of RFQ/RFPs.
- Coordinate with networking automation services for the development and integration of support tooling.
- May serve as technical SME in cross-functional activities.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor''s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- 6-10+ years of related professional experience
- Experience with networking protocols such as BGP/OSPF/IS-IS, TCP, IPv4, IPv6, DNS, DHCP, MPLS.
- Experience with automation systems, framework design/use and deployment.
- Experience with network modeling and programing - YANG, OpenConfig, NETCONF.
- Knowledge of network security design, system performance characterization and testing.
- Knowledge of data flow and telemetry design, deployment and operation.
- Capable of working under some supervision.
